Many opportunities are listed below for fun and friendship building. But if you need housing, a ride from the airport, a friend to teach you how to cook, or some other concern, please contact the service coordinator by email or if immediately urgent by phone or text at (517) 902-2771.
2019 Thanksgiving Banquet and the 2020 spring time EASTER Banquet Every year, usually a week or two before the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have a traditional Thanksgiving meal for all internationals (undergrads, grads, researchers, staff). We also have some traditional Easter foods 1-3 weeks before Easter, where we talk about what Easter means. Sign up for fun activities, and more info will be sent to you a few weeks before the event takes place.
Shopping Helpers

We have helpers ready to take you shopping at your convenience. Do you need a desk, lamp, dishes, bed or food? Do you just want a tour of town with an American friend? Sign Up for this FREE shopping help and you will get your task done and meet a new friend at the same time. We are starting a used furniture give away program, sign up for a shopping helper and you will received more info on this as well.
Lake Party

This year's party was on Saturday, August 31. We all enjoyed American picnic food (hot dogs and vegetarian), boat rides, football, beach volleyball, traditional American picnic games and met new American and international friends.
American Culture for Adults
Learn about American customs, values, celebrations and other features of American culture in an interactive learning and discussion group led by an American citizen. Compare American practices and attitudes with your culture and other cultures. The goal is to provide cross-cultural knowledge.
Conversational English Classes
Every Tuesday September 10 through October 22 at 7:30 P.M., meet at the Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church (1717 Broadway – near North Campus)

English Class for children
English learning designed for children ages 5 through 12 utilizing fun activities, such as games, singing and other child-oriented English experiences. Sign up here. An opportunity for international women (scholars, students, spouses) to meet American women in a comfortable friendship setting every Tuesday morning or afternoon. Child care is provided so bring your children! In addition to informal talking with other women there will be a chance to learn about Christianity through an easy English discussion of the Bible in small groups. See their website here.
